Manaakitanga in Action
Teaching Council
The Teaching Council’s move from Boulcott Street to Customhouse Quay marked a transformational step toward a more connected and inspiring environment. The new workspace provides a central focus for staff, enhanced by stunning views of Wellington that foster creativity and collaboration. Meeting rooms were thoughtfully designed for open and easy access, welcoming TCANZ members from across New Zealand and creating a renewed focus on gathering together. These open and flexible spaces reflect the council’s dedication to anaakitanga, the concept of hospitality and care.
In collaboration with the in-house graphic designer, the TCANZ visual identity was brought to life in the front-of-house areas. Korowai panels and acoustic features seamlessly connect the workspace to these communal spaces, emphasizing the organization’s four central ideals. This design not only inspires staff but also invites visitors to engage deeply with the core beliefs of the Teaching Council.
